Here at Tinted Sol, we believe the spirit and essence of a person lies within their soul, or as we like to spell it, "Sol". The "Sol" of a person is the special part of them that makes them who they are. We have long been told that the "eyes are the window to the soul", so why would we not want to protect something so sacred?
The sun is a critical part of our earthly existence. It warms the seas, stirs our atmospheres, generates weather patterns, and gives energy to growing green plants responsible for providing food as well as oxygen for life on earth. As vital as the sun is to life on earth, it can have harmful effects on the eyelid, cornea, lens, and retina. A study funded by the U.S. National Eye Institute found that UV radiation can cause damage to proteins in the eye's lens. This can increase the risk of developing cataracts, which impair vision. This is just one of the ways that exposure to the sun's UV rays can cause damage to our eyes. If you do your research, you will find there are other serious risks such as skin cancer, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
Fun Fact: Sól is the Latin word for sun. It's all making sense now, isn't it? 😉
